API Heat Transfer’s line of Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers are an all-aluminum bar & plate design featuring a wide variety of thermally efficient internal and external fin patterns. Fins are laid between aluminum braze sheets and fitted with header and face bars. The assembled unit is placed into modern vacuum braze furnaces where precise control of time and temperature produces a unified core. Manifolds designed to meet each customer’s particular piping requirements are welded into place to complete the cooler. API Heat Transfer can supply cores only when manifolds already exist or must be fitted in the field.
These rugged, compact, light-weight units are ideal for cooling oil or compressed air when cooling water is not available or not economically attractive. Typical applications can be found in the Compressor, PowerGen, On-Highway and Off-Highway Markets cooling lube oil, engine oil, charge air and compressed air.
Our air-cooled heat exchangers are supplied as a vital component to our OEM’s product. Therefore each design is customized to exacting requirements of the package. Flexible construction allows an infinite number of core configurations and sizes. Combi-cooler designs are available to cool multiple fluids in a single brazed unit.
API Heat Transfer can also add value beyond the component cooler by prepackaging an oil cooler with a CAC, or CAC with a radiator, as examples to simplify installation by our customer.
