Product Preparation

Product Preparation

Application Centec preparation vessels are designed for the production of liquid drugs, infusion solutions, syrups and vaccines. Description Highest manufacturing standards, outstanding material quality and extremely precise process control guarantee the most efficient handling of valuable pharmaceutical products. For product preparation, the vessel is first filled with Water for Injection (WFI). Previously weighted raw materials (e. g. concentrates, powders) are then added and dissolved in the water by a circulation pump. For accurate level control, differential pressure meters and load cells are used. To achieve optimum and repeatable product formation, temperature and pressure inside the vessel are controlled within narrow limits. At the outlet of the vessel, the finished product runs through a sterile filter. For Centec preparation vessels a large range of optional equipment is available such as agitators,…

DeStill

DeStill

ApplicationWater for Injection (WFI) is water required for manufacturing medicines for parenteral administration. The multi effect distillation system DeStill produces sterile, pyrogen-free WFI with the option of combined pure steam generation.DescriptionThe distillation system consists of a series of interconnected columns and works according to a multistage principle. Pre-treated feed water enters into the first column that contains a double tube heat exchanger. Using external energy the feed water evaporates in the heat exchanger. In order to separate any water droplets that might harbour contaminants like salts and endotoxins, the column has an expansion chamber with demistor. The tubes of the heat exchanger are connected with the expansion chamber. While the steam moves further upwards in the chamber, unevaporated water droplets fall back into the lower section of the column by…

PureSteam

PureSteam

ApplicationPure steam is used for sterilization of tanks, pipeworks and filling machines. The pure steam generator PureSteam produces sterile, pyrogen-free steam that is ideally suited for SIP (Sterilization-in-Place). The system can also be designed for the production of clean steam for direct injection into the product.DescriptionFor pure steam generation the feed water enters a tubular heat exchanger with an expansion chamber above. In the tubular heat exchanger the pre-treated water is heated and steam is generated. The tubes of the heat exchanger are connected with the expansion chamber that serves as a separating column. For production of pyrogen-free steam the chamber contains a demistor. After entering the expansion chamber, the steam moves further upwards in the column. By gravity and due to the specific column design, unevaporated water droplets fall…

SIP

SIP

ApplicationWhere more stringent hygienic standards apply, sterilization-in-place (SIP) is done after CIP cleaning. SIP kills harmful microorganisms that may have survived CIP or in cases where Cleaning-in-Place is not performed.DescriptionCentec provide a large variety of SIP systems. SIP systems are designed by Centec in such a way that optimal sterilization results are ensured, with the lowest consumption of water, chemicals and energy. While one part of the plant is sterilized other areas can continue to produce product. For the production of pure steam, Centec offer pure steam generators. The steam temperature is above 121 °C. If required the pure steam generator can be enlarged by additional columns to build up a multi effect distillation system. This allows combined generation of pure water and pure steam at the same time.Sterilization concept…

CIP

CIP

ApplicationThe purpose of Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) is to remove product residues and microorganisms from all wetted surfaces inside tanks, pipework and filling machines. Centec provide CIP skids for cold and hot cleaning in brewery industry.DescriptionCleaning and sanitization must be performed periodically at appropriate intervals. A typical CIP cycle consists of various steps, e. g. pre-rinse with purified water, flushes with caustics and acid solutions, intermediate and final rinse with purified water. Chemicals and detergents are sometimes used to enhance cleaning performance. Depending on the system, after each cleaning step the cleaning media is either routed to drain (lost CIP) or back to the storage tank for later re-use (batch CIP). Temperatures, flow rates and times are adapted to the system dimensions and the cleaning tasks. Hot cleaning regimes use hot caustic…

FlashPasto

FlashPasto

ApplicationBy flash pasteurization harmful microorganisms in beer and beer-based mixed drinks are killed with the aim of improving microbiological stability and shelf life of the product. Flash pasteurization is a well-established and cost-effective process in brewery industry.DescriptionThe flash pasteurization system is designed to pasteurize the product gently without adversely affecting its colour, taste or digestibility. For optimum results, pasteurization time, temperature and pressure have to be individually adjusted. Optimum parameters depend on various factors, such as product, type of packaging and anticipated shelf life. Based on highly accurate process control, the unit guarantees constant pasteurization quality even at variable product flow directly in front of the filler. To increase the energy efficiency of the system, the product is warmed up to the pasteurization temperature in two steps. In the first…

MultiMixer

MultiMixer

ApplicationThe MultiMixer is used for the continuous mixing of several streams of liquid products, e. g. beer, syrup and flavours. Since the number of blending channels can be adapted to individual needs, the skid provides a high degree of flexibility for the production of different products (brands).DescriptionIn multi component mixing different liquid or powder products are blended. The components to be mixed can be supplied from large storage tanks via supply lines or from vessels located on the skid. Mass flows and concentrations are permanently measured in the process and adjusted by ratio controllers. Therefore, the system is equipped with high precision flow meters and in-line sensors made by Centec. Centec have decades of experience in the development and manufacturing of own precision instruments. Frequently, the MultiMixer is also used…

Nitrogenerator

Nitrogenerator

ApplicationNitrogenated beers have very small bubbles and very stable foam. The Nitrogenator is designed for continuous injection of nitrogen into beer and beer-based mixed drinks. The required N2 content is exactly reached in the final product.DescriptionFor product nitrogenation the Nitrogenator has a specifically designed Vortex-Venturi injector that feeds nitrogen in a very large number of very fine bubbles directly into the product stream. Due to high pressure and turbulent flow, the N2 dissolves completely and absolutely homogeneously in a very short time. At the end of the dissolving path a control valve is installed. This valve keeps the pressure in the system constant and above the saturation pressure. The system is equipped with high precision flow meters. Based on the measurement of the flows, the product steam and the nitrogen flow are…

DeCarbonator

DeCarbonator

ApplicationThe DeCarbonator is designed for continuous adjustment and especially reduction of the CO2 content of beer and beer-based mixed drinks. A precisely defined and constant CO2 content is an essential quality feature for carbonated beverages.DescriptionThe system is designed to continuously adjust the CO2 content in a product to the required level. Highly efficient membrane modules allow the CO2 concentration to be increased and decreased with extraordinary accuracy. At the same time the oxygen content is reduced. Each module contains thousands of hydrophobic, gas permeable hollow fibre membranes resulting in a large surface. This large surface maximizes the transfer area and the contact time between product and gas. While CO2 is applied on the inside of the hollow fibres, the product flows in counter current between them on the outside. Depending on the CO2 partial pressure difference…

Carbonator

ApplicationThe Carbonator is designed for continuous injection of carbon dioxide into beer and beer-based mixed drinks. A precisely defined and constant CO2 content is an essential quality feature for carbonated beverages.DescriptionFor CO2 supply the Carbonator has a specifically designed Vortex-Venturi injector that feeds carbon dioxide in a very large number of very fine bubbles directly into the product stream. Due to high pressure and turbulent flow, the CO2 dissolves completely and absolutely homogeneously in a very short time. At the end of the dissolving path a control valve is installed. This valve keeps the pressure in the system constant and above the saturation pressure. The flows and the CO2 content are permanently monitored and automatically adjusted in the process. Therefore, the system is equipped with high precision flow meters and a CARBOTEC sensor made…
